Disaster Relief
Disaster Relief & Community Recovery
At Mildrie’s Road Foundation (MRF), our mission is to empower communities through education, re-entry support, disaster relief, and resource distribution. We provide essential aid, literacy programs, and holistic support to individuals and families in need.
Our Commitment to Disaster Relief
Since our inception, MRF has been at the forefront of disaster response, providing immediate relief and long-term recovery solutions to communities affected by natural disasters. Our ability to mobilize swiftly is strengthened by our extensive network of partnerships, enabling us to deliver critical assistance when it’s needed most.
Experience in Disaster Response
Our team has extensive experience responding to national disasters, with staff members who have worked in Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Over the years, we have actively provided support during major crises, including:
Woolsey Fire (2018) – MRF responded by establishing a disaster relief distribution hub, providing rebuilding materials, clothing, water, hygiene kits, and other essential resources to aid in recovery.
COVID-19 Pandemic (2020-Present) – We distributed personal protective equipment (PPE), food, and educational resources to affected communities, ensuring vulnerable populations received the necessary support.
Recent California Wildfires (2025) – In response to the Eaton Fire and Palisades Fire, MRF has been mobilizing relief efforts to assist families who have lost their homes and livelihoods.
The Impact of Recent California Wildfires
California has faced a series of devastating wildfires, including the recent Eaton Fire and Palisades Fire, which have caused significant destruction and displacement.
Eaton Fire (2025)
The Eaton Fire ignited near Eaton Canyon in Los Angeles County, burning over 14,000 acres, resulting in 17 fatalities, and destroying more than 9,400 structures, including homes, schools, and businesses.
Palisades Fire (2025)
The Palisades Fire, occurring in January 2025, became one of the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles County’s history, consuming nearly 12,000 acres and destroying at least 1,000 homes and businesses in less than a day.
MRF’s Response to Recent Wildfires
In response to these recent disasters, MRF has mobilized its resources to provide immediate relief and long-term recovery solutions:
Emergency Housing & Shelter Solutions – Securing temporary housing for displaced families, ensuring they have a safe place to stay during their recovery.
Food & Essential Supplies – Distributing non-perishable food, clean water, clothing, diapers, hygiene kits, and other necessities.
Community Resources & Recovery Support – Connecting families with resources to help them rebuild their lives, including job placement assistance, educational opportunities, and housing support.
Workforce Training & Skill Development – Launching programs that will provide trade certifications, career training, and skill-building to help individuals re-enter the workforce.
Pop-Up Shops for Disaster Relief – Hosting regular pop-up shops where families can receive essential supplies, clothing, and household items at no cost.
Our Immediate Needs: How You Can Help
Given the extensive damage caused by these wildfires, we are actively seeking assistance to support affected individuals and families:
Land Acquisition for Rebuilding – Securing land to develop new housing communities for displaced families.
Provision of RVs and Temporary Housing – Many families need temporary housing solutions. Donations of RVs or funding to acquire them will provide safe shelter during the rebuilding process.
Transportation Support – The fires have destroyed numerous vehicles, leaving families without means of transportation. We seek donations of vehicles or financial contributions to assist families in commuting to work and school.
Housing Assistance – With thousands of homes destroyed, there is an urgent need for both temporary and permanent housing solutions. Collaborations with builders, suppliers, and volunteers are crucial to expedite construction and repairs.
Our Strong Network of Partnerships
MRF’s impact is made possible by our dedicated partnerships:
Spectacular Foundation – Supporting emergency response efforts and long-term recovery initiatives.
Emergency RV – Providing emergency housing solutions through RV donations and temporary shelter programs.
Strong Home Collaboration – Working with MRF to develop long-term housing solutions for disaster survivors.
Long-Term Partnership with Baby2Baby – Supplying essential resources like diapers, clothing, and hygiene products to families in need.
We also receive continuous support from anonymous partners who wish to remain unnamed but play a significant role in sustaining our relief efforts. We extend our deepest gratitude to them and invite more organizations and individuals to join us in this mission.
